The Desert can be found on every continent except Europe. Deserts are classified as hot or cold. An example of a cold desert is Antarctica. If you wanted to visit a hot desert you should visit Sahara. As you can see on the map, the desert can be found in a lot of different areas. On average less then 25 cm of rain fall across the dry land a year. This is a key factor of what makes an area a desert; as a result deserts can look very different.
Mountains form many deserts; this is because the mountains block the rain from reaching one side of the mountain. The desert has two seasons: Foresummer and Monsoon. Foresummer is the desert's spring and summer. The other season is Monsoon, is winter and fall. Monsoon season has more rain the Foresummer. Antarctica it is technically a desert since it receives very little rain.
The average temperature for the Sonoran desert is 21 to 26 degrees Celsius during Foresummer and 2 to 4 degrees in the monsoon season. In a more classic desert like the Sahara the temperature varies from 20 to 25 during monsoon season and 43.5 to 49 degrees in Foresummer. The overall average is 18 degrees Celsius for deserts.
